Religious Education
Intent:
At Our Lady's, Religious Education is at the heart of the school curriculum and children's learning. We believe that Religious Education encourages an understanding of others and the world around them, providing opportunities for children to ask questions and to learn about Christianity. Through Come and See and To Know You More Clearly, children are able to continually deepen their religious understanding and are encouraged to communicate effectively. Our Religious Education curriculum also enables children to learn about and explore Christian traditions, alongside traditions from other faith backgrounds, so we can develop an understanding and respect for all.
Please note, parents have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of RE.

Other faiths - Judaism
(Week beginning 11th November- 22nd November)
The children in St John's class and St Luke's class have been learning about Judaism during their RE lessons. St John's class learnt about the significance of Yom Kippur for Jewish people and about Mitzvah. St Luke's class learnt about the Torah and about the Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah.
Other Faiths Carousel days 2023-2024
The children throughout school were mixed togehter and were split into 5 groups. Each group visited each teacher to learn about a different aspect of Judaism and Islam. The children enjoyed working togther and being creative.
