After School Clubs and Enrichment Provision
The school provides a range of high-quality after school clubs that enhance pupils’ personal development, wellbeing, and wider experiences beyond the academic curriculum. These opportunities support pupils to develop confidence, teamwork, resilience, and positive attitudes to learning.
Provision is inclusive, accessible, and reflects the interests and needs of our pupils.
Sporting Activities (Free of Charge)
The school offers three different sporting activities, available Monday to Wednesday, which are free of charge to all pupils.
These clubs:
· Promote physical health and wellbeing
· Encourage participation in regular physical activity
· Develop teamwork, coordination, and resilience
· Support pupils to build confidence and self-esteem
By offering these clubs at no cost, the school ensures equality of access for all pupils.
Pupil Voice and Participation
Pupil voice is a key feature of our enrichment provision. Each half term, pupils are given the opportunity to vote and decide which after school clubs they would like the school to offer.
This approach:
· Ensures provision is responsive to pupils’ interests
· Increases engagement and participation
· Promotes inclusion and democratic decision-making
· Helps pupils feel listened to and valued
Choir Club (Free of Charge)
The school’s Choir Club meets every Monday and provides pupils with opportunities to develop musical skills, confidence, and performance experience.
The choir has represented the school positively within the local community and at wider events, including:
· Doncaster Choral Society
· Chapel Garth Residential Care Home
· Performances for the Doncaster Minister
· An upcoming performance at Young Voices
Participation in choir supports pupils to:
· Develop musical and performance skills
· Build confidence and self-belief
· Work collaboratively as part of a team
· Take pride in representing their school
Access and Organisation
Information about clubs, availability, and sign-up procedures is shared with parents each half term through school communication channels. Places may be limited and are allocated fairly to ensure inclusion.
Impact
The school’s after school club provision contributes positively to:
· Pupils’ personal development and wellbeing
· Increased engagement and enjoyment of school life
· Positive behaviour and attitudes
· Strong pupil voice and participation
The school regularly reviews its enrichment offer to ensure it continues to meet pupils’ needs and interests.
Break Time and Lunch Time Sporting Activities
To ensure all pupils are able to access physical activity, Our Lady’s provides a range of sporting activities during daily break times and lunch times. This provision supports pupils who may be unable to attend after school clubs.
These activities:
· Are inclusive and accessible to all pupils
· Do not require advance sign-up
· Allow pupils to take part flexibly, joining in when they choose
· Promote physical wellbeing, social interaction, and enjoyment
This approach ensures that opportunities for physical activity are embedded throughout the school day and that all pupils are supported to lead healthy, active lifestyles.
